Gene Colan and Tom Palmer - Tomb of Dracula #55, page 23 Original Art (Marvel, 1977). Writer Marv Wolfman had assembled the perfect art team for his Tomb of Dracula title: Gene Colan, penciler, and Tom Palmer, inker. As the duo concluded their long stint on Daredevil, they had honed their superb storytelling skills to their finest, with a mastery of facial expression and body language, and a facility with light and shadow that was ideally suited for the gothic, fog-enshrouded, and characterization-centered Bronze Age classic. The woman known as Domini pledges her undying love for Dracula in this torrid love scene. The image area of this page is 10" x 15", and the art is in Excellent condition. From the collection of Richard and Wendy Pini. Richard says: "There is good comic art and then there is great comic art, and some of the best is the result of inspired teamwork. Tom Palmer's inks over Gene Colan's pencils was some of the finest interpretation I had seen at the time. I wasn't one who necessarily sought out 'significant' pages from a story; all I needed for my collection was a good solid example of the craftsmanship of the artist(s) I enjoyed, and this page certainly fit that bill.".
