Inscribed on lower mat to Joe Garino's wife, Dorothy “<I>To Snooky/ My Very Best/ & Sincere Wishes/ Gene Cernan.</B></I>” Dorothy had, at times, sewn the patches on various astronauts' flight suits. Inscription and signature very light but legible. Cernan is shown outside the Gemini 9 spacecraft as he logged 2 hours 10 minutes in extravehicular activities, becoming the second American to walk in space. He later walked on the moon (Apollo 17). Framed to 17.5” x 21.5”. Fine condition. <I>From the collection of renowned former physical trainer of the astronauts Joe Garino.
