Two-piece black gabardine Nathan Turk Southern California celebrity suit with white trim and the name "Gene Autry" boldly embroidered across the back and again in smaller cursive script just below the jacket's smile pocket. Black pants also feature white smile pockets. Label reads: “N. Turk / 13711 Ventura Blvd / Van Nuys / California”. Circa 1930s-40s.

Nathan Turk, one of the master tailors of Hollywood's golden age and one of Gene Autry' favorite custom tailors, crafted beautifully made garments for gentlemen and ladies, the So Cal movie crowd and Rose Parade riders for over 50 years at his Ventura Blvd shop in the San Fernando Valley. Working with his wife and son-in-law, Nathan embroidered exquisite shirts and suits for everyone from rhinestone cowboys to A-List celebrities and popular musicians. After closing the business in the late 1970s due to health concerns, he sold his machinery to the irrepressible and flamboyant Rhinstone Rembrant, "Manuel"
