General Douglas MacArthur typed letter signed. Dated 14 April 1955, four years after MacArthur was controversially relieved of his duties by President Truman, letter to one Edgar Davis reads in full, ''Thank you so much for your cordial letter of April 10th. It was thoughtful of you to write me as you have and I appreciate it more than I can say. With every good wish, Most cordially, [signed] Douglas MacArthur''. Single-page letter measures 8'' x 10.25''. Adhesive residue to top edge and a small tear to the left edge. Very good.
