Flown heat shield fragment from the Gemini 7 spacecraft which protected the astronauts from the reentry temperatures of up to 3100 degrees. The fragment measures approximately 1.5 x .5 x .5, and is encased in a 3.75 x 1.75 x 1.75 block of Lucite labeled “McDonnell,” bearing a descriptive plaque on the back. In fine condition.
