Gemini 6A- Group of 28 Original NASA Photographs
Gemini 6A - Group of 28 Original NASA Photographs. This mission, in which Wally Schirra and Thomas Stafford rendezvoused and flew in formation with Gemini 7 for several hours, almost never got off the ground. The launch of Gemini 6, originally scheduled for October 25, 1965 with a goal of docking in orbit with an Agena Target Vehicle, was cancelled when the Agena failed to reach orbit. It was then decided that Gemini 6A (officially renamed) would launch on December 12 and meet Gemini 7 (launched December 4) in orbit. This second attempt also failed due to technical problems. Finally, on December 15, Schirra and Stafford succeeded in getting off the ground and accomplished a successful mission. This vintage collection of 28 official NASA 8" x 10" glossy color photos is all of the desirable variety with the red NASA image numbers in the wide right margins. They portray the astronauts before and after the flight with several of the recovery crew and ship. Generally excellent condition. From the collection of renowned former physical trainer of the astronauts Joe Garino. This lot is accompanied by a signed certificate of authentication from Garino verifying its provenance.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
