They just don't make garden hose nozzles like this anymore! This nozzle can't break, and is still in working order, twisting to control the stream of water. At the bottom is etched: "Gem" patented Oct. 16, 1877-June 2, 1885., Crane, Bridgeport, Conn. The nozzle is in very good condition, heavier than the other Gem nozzle I have for sale, and also apparently harder (it has no scratches). It feels like iron, but I see a little, faint turquoise-colored dust around the rim indicating some copper content. The photo was too dark, so I lightened it up; the metal is very very dark in reality. I have 2 more old hose nozzles for sale, so please check out my other items!
