Gauntlet sword or Pata from India, with fancy etched and engraved hand-portion, thin steel broadsword-type blade, circa 19th century. The gauntlet portion etched in classic motifs. The sword blade approx. 28”, 47”overall. Dark brown patina finish, the gauntlet area shows classic Indian motifs of gods, elephants, etc. Brass trim that has gone dark, original inside grip and folding retainer. Est: $900 - $1,800
