Gary Schildt Original Charley Pride Bronze Bust
This is an original bronze sculpture by Montana artist Gary Schildt. Schildt is a member of the Blackfeet Tribe and has participated in the C.M. Russell Auction In Great Falls, Montana numerous years. In addition, he is a founding member of the Northwest Rendezvous of Art group. Schildt is an accomplished artist with notable works in oil, watercolor and bronze. This piece is titled "C. Pride" and is a wonderful depiction of American country music singer Charley Pride. Schildt was selected to create this bust for the Quick Draw at the C.M. Russell Auction in 1988. Charley Pride said it was the best depiction of him he had ever seen. In addition, the bronze sold for a record amount during the auction. The bronze bust shows fantastic detail and artistic ability. The piece is marked "C. Pride" on the left collar. The right collar has been signed by the artist and is marked "© 1988 CMR Quick Draw". The bronze is numbered "49/50". The bust measures 8.5" in diameter and is 16" tall.
