Gary Schildt Bronze Sculpture Prairie Cavalier
Featured in this lot we have a bronze sculpture titled "Prairie Cavalier" by Gary Schildt circa 1989. Schildt is a member of the Blackfoot Tribe and has participated in the C.M. Russell Auction In Great Falls, Montana numerous years. In addition, he is a founding member of the Northwest Rendezvous of Art group. Schildt is an accomplished artist with notable works in oil, watercolor and bronze. This bronze depicts an American hunter/ trapper as he stares off into the distance. The figure is shown in a thick tasseled coat, moccasins with leg guards, and leaning against his rifle. The piece is marked across the back reading "Schildt c 1989". The statue is set onto a oak base with a brass plaque in the front reading ""Prairie Cavalier" Gary Schildt". The piece shows good condition overall with some minor wear on the base. The piece measures 12" wide by 7" long and 19" tall.
