Garth Williams illustration for Laura Ingalls Wilder's beloved ''Little House on the Prairie'' series of books, initialed by the artist. Drawn for the 1953 reissue of the ''Little House'' series, this breathtaking proof print depicts Pa, neck-high in water, guiding panicked horses and the family wagon across a deep river. The print measures 5.25'' x 4.5'', the same size it appeared in the series, and is initialed in ink by Williams; ''3.16654'' is penciled on verso. One corner has been trimmed round, else fine.
