Garryowen was the unofficial Irish marching song of the 7th Cavalry adopted by General Custer. The box contains the Custer and historical files of Charles G. Du Bois. DuBois was the author of The Custer Mystery and Kick the Dead Lion. The files are quite extensive filled with notes, newspaper articles, historical pamphlets, letters, photographs, and (8) original pencil drawings signed by DuBois of Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse, Rain in the Face, Chief Joseph, Lonesome Charley Reynolds, Benteen, Chief Gall, and Crow King. The box also contains several brick fragments and artifacts probably from Ft. Custer. Box size is 10 ½” h x 21 ½” l x 16 ½” w.
