<B>Garfield & Arthur: An Important Large 1880 Jugate Cloth Campaign Banner</B></I>. Collins’ <I>Threads of History</B></I> illustrates nothing that begins to compare with this powerful 26” x 39” banner for this tough ticket! Minor condition problems only add character: there is some light water staining, several minor, small holes in the field, a somewhat larger hole above the 1880 date slightly affecting the blue starred border, and one trivial small edge tear in the lower right hand border. However, sophisticated collectors understand that when these rare 19th-century banners turn up at all, they are usually afflicted by a variety of condition problems. As the catalog photo shows, the overall display appearance is quite satisfactory.
