With accompanying text from the book, describing the town's unlikely importance (''...a collection of about a dozen ordinary Virginia houses...'') and ''that sanguinary storm of battle which, lasting seven days, was begun at this village...'' 9'' x 7'' photo is affixed to the 16.5'' x 12.5'' book page; text is on separate book page. Moisture rings to margin, not affecting photo. Light soiling, else near fine.
