Ancient Gandharan frieze sculpture estimated to be carved during the 1st to 3rd century A.D. From the Gandharan region in northwest Pakistan, with provenance from Benjamin H. Oehlert, Jr., former U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan. Grey schist sculpture portrays a hunter adorned in a robe and skirt behind a tree, aiming a bow and arrow at two prancing horses and a dog on its hind legs. Attached to a wooden base with three one-inch high steps. Sculpture measures 1.75'' deep, and 10.25” x 6.5”, which includes a 1.5” schist base.
