Gamble’s Ace .410 gauge American double barrel shotgun, serial number 278888 with lug on bottom of barrel marked W and BP. The inside of the action is marked patented and the gun is very similar in appearance to aLeFevre and Ithaca. The shotgun measures 42 ¼” overall with 26” barrels that are choked full and full. The barrel shows 75% to 85% original thinning blue finish and the action shows 30% to 50% original case hardenedcolors thinning at the edges with some light but evident rainbow tones. The stocks are crudely checkered by the factory and are good with some cleaning and small losses. The butt stock has been sanded lightly and oilfinished. There is a hard rubber recoil pad that has been added to extend the length of the stock and the stock now measures 14 ¼” to the end of the pad, 13 ¼” to the end of the wood. The action is tight and the bore is atleast very good and looks like it would clean to near excellent. Est.: $300-$600.
