Galveston Bay & Texas Land Company Oct. 16, 1830
This is a land certificate good for 177 136/1000 English acres of land in what was then the newly settled area of Texas between the Sabine and San Jacinto Rivers. This land came from grants issued to Lorenzo de Zavala. De Zavala would later become the first vice president of Texas. This is an important historical document that should interest any Texan or collector of Texas currency or historical memorabilia, and also a fascinating document that gives a glimpse into the history of the American settlement of Mexican Texas and the revolution that followed. Very Fine or better overall, with just a few folds that are not at all distracting. The top edge shows a thin reinforcement and there is an approximate four inch slit along the right edge. The signatures of the trustees and attorneys of the company are bold and add to the overall appearance. We expect the bidding to reach or exceed. . .

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
