French financier (1770–1846) who was one of the greatest stock speculators of his day and a financier of Napoleon. DS in Spanish, English, and French, signed “G. J. Ouvrard,” one page both sides, 11.5 x 16, February 6, 1836. Spanish five percent perpetual annuity bond payable in Madrid, or, at the option of the holder, in Amsterdam, London, Paris, Brussels, or Turin. The bond was issued for an initial capital investment of $940 and paid $47 annually, and the document enumerates the amount due in various currencies around the world. Also signed by a couple other officials. The reverse bears the text of the document translated to English and French. In fine condition.
