GWR brass CABSIDE NUMBERPLATE "1438". As carried by the GWR Collett 0-4-2T "4838" built at Swindon in August 1934 under Lot 288 at cost of ú2,255. Initially allocated to Reading, she was a longtime Stourbridge engine (1936-1957), during which time she was renumbered '1438' in October 1946, then Oswestry until withdrawal in November 1962 to be cut up by John Cashmore of Great Bridge, Staffordshire on 17th October 1963. The plate is face-polished and repainted only.
