GUNTHER BLUMENTRITT
(1892 - 1967) German general, instrumental in planning the German invasion of Poland and France, participated in Operation Barbarossa, and afterward bore a large part of the responsibility for planning the defense of the Atlantic Wall and Normandy. A.L.S. on the verso of a postcard showing a street scene in Munich, Mar. 3, 1964, in German, thanking an American for having sent him a photo of the late President Kennedy. Translation in another hand penned beneath Blumentritt's note. Fine.
