No.1: S# 194845. Receiver manufactured in 1941. Standard markings at heel. Drawing number "D 28291-3 SA". Receiver contains no additional parts. Rear sight notches appear lightly worn. CONDITION: receiver has an arsenal rework Parkerization over scattered fine pitting throughout w/ very light high point wear. (25-3120/RW). No.2: S# 3692210. Springfield M1C (Plugged) Receiver. These receivers were from a lot of 1,500 M1C sniper rifles that were reworked into standard rifles in late 1952 due to requirements of the Korean conflict. Receiver is marked on the top rear behind the sight windage marks "SA-52". The receiver was originally manufactured in 1945 & carries the standard Springfield markings on the heel as well as the drawing number "D28291 35". Receiver contains no additional parts. CONDITION: receiver has a moderately worn original finish w/ fitting turned gray. The screw & pin holes in the left wall of the receiver have had their plug screws removed. The inside of the receiver rail shows end mill marks from removal of staking. (25-3177/RW). BOTH MODERN. $400-600.
