No.1: US WWII M8 Flare Pistol. Cal. 37mm. S# E-060044. Bbl. 4 1/8" smooth bore. Pistol was used by the United States Army Air Force during WWII & later the Air Force until 2002. Single shot break-open design. Marked on right side of frame in triangle "CEC / V / 1942 / US PROPERTY / PISTOL PYROTECHNIC M-8". Blued steel construction except black plastic checkered grips. CONDITION: grips have light wear & handling marks. Left grip has repaired crack. Metal retains 60% original worn thinning blue. Notable area of oxidation on right side of bbl. No.2: US WWII International Flare Signal Co. Pistol. Cal. 37mm smooth bore. S# 21950. Bbl. 8 1/8". This break-open single shot pistol is of brass construction w/ a steel bbl. Grips are marked on both sides "INTERNATIONAL FLARE SIGNAL COMPANY / TIPPECANOE CITY OHIO". Frame is marked on left side "PT NOV '43". Lanyard ring on butt & original cotton lanyard is present. CONDITION: brass has turned a pleasing patina w/ areas of dark staining. Steel bbl. retains 50% of its original blue-black finish. No.3: Webley & Scott Flare Pistol. Cal. 25mm smooth bore. S# 48399. Numbers match on frame & extractor. Bbl. 4 1/8". Pistol is of brass construction w/ wooden grips. Marked on left side of frame "WEBLEY & SCOTT LTD / LONDON & BIRMINGHAM". Marked on right side of frame "Webley winged bullet logo". Pistol also has numerous view marks. Walnut bird's head grips. Lanyard ring in butt. CONDITION: grips have moderate wear & handling marks throughout. Well-worn brass parts are turned patina w/ numerous handling marks. Steel parts are turned patina w/ notable oxidation. No.4: Very Flare Pistol. Cal. 25mm. S# 1540. Matching numbers on frame & opening lever. Bbl. 4 1/8" smooth bore. Single shot break-open design. Brass construction. Frame marking on the left side appears to be "G.G & C?". Butt is marked "80.F. / 125TH.". Checkered wooden grips appear to be replacements. CONDITION: grips have wear, staining & handling marks. Metal has extensive wear & handling marks. Has turned a dark patina w/ areas of darker staining. (02-24534/RW). NON-GUN. $400-600.
