Serving with much distinction during the Civil War, he was the chief engineer of the Union Pacific Railroad immediately afterward. He was associated with Jay Gould in the development of the railroad in the Southwest and built a railroad in Cuba. Partly printed DS, 1p, legal folio, New York, Jan 16, 1890. Embossed Texas and New York stamps present. A deed for the purchase of two lots in the city of Quanah, Hardeman County, TX for $110. Boldly signed. Docketed on verso. 1. Auction Catalogue No. 19 is a Mail, Fax, Phone, Email and
Internet Live Bid Auction and is conducted under the laws of the State
of West Virginia by Gil Griggs, Licensee of Charleston, W. V. License
No. 002.
2. Absentee bid closing date is April 5th, 2002, 10:00 PM EST.
3. There is a 15% Buyer’s Premium charged on the final hammer price
of each lot. An additional 2½% Premium will be added to any lots
purchased through ebayliveauctions.com.
4. The Auctioneer reserves the right to reject any bid for any
reason.

6. In the event of duplicate high bids, the earliest bid received
will be the winner.
