John Hall writes in part: "...You will be glad to hear of our safe arrival at this place and the more glad to hear that Col. Morgan is much better than when leaving New York. We arrived on Sunday morning thus making exactly seven days and had a very delightful trip of course for the first 2 or 3 days we had a good many sea sick but after that time and when we got into a warmer climate which we did on Wednesday the thermometer up to 80 in the shade we all began to enjoy it much and as we had a good table and many courteous and attentive captain of the ship we all did well. It is a splendid climate regular summer weather and the Colonel wishing me to write you to let you know how we are getting along...We cannot yet tell as to any operation son our part but are perfectly content to remain till we get them getting ourselves in a fit state as to drill and discipline that the 9th. may yet be heard from whether it may be at Fort Pickens or New Orleans..." Indeed the 90th. New York would go to New Orleans in early 1863 seeing action at Port Hudson, and later at Cedar Creek during the Shenandoah campaign. Usual folds, otherwise very good. $50-75
