<B>GREENE CARBINE (BRITISH TYPE).</B></I> Serial number 1813, circa 1855-1857. 18” barrel in .54 calibre. Only 2000 of these percussion carbines were produced by Mass. Army Co. for the British government. Survival rate is thought to be quite low. All American produced and British inspected components and stamps are as manufactured and original for this model.<BR><BR><B>Condition:</B></I>Barrel, trigger guard, butt plate, top tang and hammer have naturally aged to a pleasing brown patina. 40% or so of the original casehardening remains on the lock. Frame extensions and trigger plate have strong blue coverage. Wood stock is excellent.
