GREAT MONGOLS: Anonymous, ca. 1230s-1240s, AV dinar (4.26g), MM, DM, A-A1967-var, Zeno-323872 (this piece, with long discussion), an amusing issue, citing the caliph al-Nasir (AH 575-622) on one side and his 2nd successor, the caliph al-Mustansir (623-640), on the reverse; the style is similar to dinars of Almaligh (without al-Mustansir, of course!), and this suggests a mint somewhere at or near Almaligh; appears to be unique, VF, RRR. Petrov has suggested the dating of 1230s-1240s, which makes sense. The only Great Mongol dinars that cite al-Mustansir is type A-V1973, struck at Taraz but of totally different style and calligraphy. Some have categorized this as a "mule", but it seems more likely that the presence of 2 different caliphs is merely the result of using whatever dies were at hand at the location.
