GREAT MIXED GROUP OF POLITICAL RIBBONS.
GREAT MIXED GROUP OF POLITICAL RIBBONS. Lot of 5. A framed 1880 ballot for the "National Greenback Labor Ticket" in support of Weaver and Chambers. While the Third Party failed to win any Electoral votes, the candidates garnered more than 300,000 popular votes in a highly charged election year. Appears to have some light age, ballot measures 2.75 x 5" and is framed to 5.5 x 7.5" overall. Together with: a small U.S. Grant ribbon, Sullivan/Fischer #USG-15, stained at top and bottom from mounting; an 1896 McKinley "Bethesda District Sound Money Club" ribbon, two small holes and partial separation at top; and a scarce McKinley "Reception" ribbon from the second inauguration in 1901. PLUS a truly impressive Delegate ribbon for the Prohibition candidate, John A. Bidwell. This ribbon was made for the 1892 National Prohibition Convention in Cincinnati. Gold on dark blue with gold fringe and sequined star at top, quite clean. PLEASE NOTE: THIS LOT WILL BE SOLD ON EBAY LIVE AUCTIONS BETWEEN 3:00-4:00pm EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME ON MAY 10, 2002.
