GREAT 19TH C. FOLK ART SHOE TRADE SIGN.
GREAT 19TH C. FOLK ART SHOE TRADE SIGN. This large early double-sided wooden trade sign from Rutland, VT has red paint at the top and black paint at the lower portion. One side has advertisement “Shoe Maker” with a pointing hand below. We believe this was a double-sided figural hanger and probably at one time in the late 19th or early 20th C., this was affixed to the wall and the inscription was added. SIZE: 38 1/2”t. CONDITION: Generally very good. It has a great appearance. The surface of the paint is crackled. The arch of the boot has some cracks. The reverse of the sign still retains its paint, but has some minor wood loss near the heel. A very eye catching piece. 1-28412
Shipping :
*SHIPPING: If you are the successful bidder and are unable to attend the auction in person or pick up your item, we will pack and ship your item for you.
