The 26 3/8" bbl. set is fitted with matted top rib, central portion cut away forming rear quarter rib, and slight rise as ramp for front sight. A flip over rifle/shotgun sight is fitted at front portion of quarter rib. Tops of bbls. are engraved with maker's name and address. Bbl. flats are stamped with imperial German Nitro proofs for 16 ga. & 8x57 cartridge. Rifle bbl. has been lined to 22 and chambered for the Vierling cartridge. Scallop backed blitz trigger plate action features rifle shotgun selector on top tang, greener type side safety, pin type cocking indicators, crossbolt third fastener and double triggers (front set). Action is engraved with about 50% coverage well cut small scroll within line and geometric borders. Maker's name and address and other info are engraved on sides. Steel trigger guard has scroll on bow. Round knob pistol grip buttstock of stump figured european walnut measures 14 1/4" over checkered wood butt. Stock features shadowline right hand cheekpiece and point pattern checkering at grip. Sling eyes are present on toeline and bottom of bbl. Matching splinter forend has Deeley release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: R .670", L .670". Restriction: R .009" (IC), L .033" (FULL). Min. Wall Thickness: R .019", L .024". STOCK: DAH: 2 3/4". DAC: 1 1/2". LOP: 14 1/4". CAST: approx. 1/2" off. WEIGHT: 6 lb. 14 oz. CONDITION: fair to good, bbls. with nearly all of a reblack. There are three plugged extra holes in rear portion of rib. Action is gray to brown patina, engraving remains clear. Stocks retain most of an old oil refinish, sharp edges rounded, checkering considerably worn. Bores are shiny with scattered pitting throughout. Rifle bore also has some pits toward breach end. Action is tight. Mechanically good. PROVENANCE: Estate of Frank Glenn Marsh (22-3369/MGM).
