TRIGGER UPGRADE SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 Ga., 2 5/8". S# 22324 (1916). The 32" barrels with matted rib holding two white beads are engraved "Krupp Fluid Steel Made By" "A. H. Fox Gun Co. Phila. PA." on tops. Breech ends of barrels are engraved for 6 1/2" along their length with large shaded scroll. This scroll is background for flocks of relief gold inlaid ducks in various poses on each side for a total of ten inlaid figures. Matching scroll engraving extends 1 1/2" back from muzzles. Barrel flats are stamped with S#, and Fox proof. "F" is engraved. Krupp Steel info is stamped on bottoms of barrels. Case hardened Fox action has patent dates and S# stamped on watertable "F SPECIAL" is engraved within vine borders. Action has double ogee filed back and rebated frame. It is engraved with full coverage scroll matching barrels. Relief gold inlays consist of dogs on both sides, flowers on hinge pin ends, a pair of quail on bottom and a hawk perched on a branch on trigger guard bow. S# is in gold on tang. Action features non automatic safety and Kautzky single selective trigger which is gold plated. The engraver's signature "W. H. Gough" is in front of trigger. It is highly doubtful that this famed engraver was responsible for the work on this gun, however work is done in his style. Well made straight grip buttstock of attractively marbled and lightly figured European walnut measures 15" over Silver type pad. Side panels are checkered and have fleur de lis intrusions. Grip checkering is of fancy pattern with ribbons and fleur de lis. A vacant gold oval is on toeline. Matching long splinter ejector forend has gold plated Deeley type release and inlet schnabled horn tip. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .725". R .725". Restriction: L .033" (full). R .020" (mod). Wall thickness: L .032". R .033". STOCK: DAH: 2 3/4". DAC: 1 15/16". CAST: neutral. LOP: 15". WEIGHT: 7 lb. 12 oz. CONDITION: very fine as custom upgraded with only a very few essembly and handling marks on all wood and metal finishes. Bores are bright with a few scattered pits mostly in right barrel.
