These are two large commemorative medals of the Group of the Study of Reactive Motion (GIRD). The group was established in 1931 to study various aspects of rocketry. One of the bronze medals depicts in high relief the group with the GIRD-X rocket and the inscription ‘GIRD’ and the date ‘1933’. The second bronze medal bears inscriptions regarding the project.



The two bronze medals are in good condition with slight traces of age of the bronze. Both bear a badge verso with the inscription and the date in Cyrillic ‘A. Shabanov “GIRD 1933”’. They are each 118 mm in diameter.
