Unique reticulated pierced openwork and gilded vase by Royal Crown Derby England, 1877 - 1889, sold via Davis Collamore & Co, 5th Ave New York.<BR>Measures 11 1/4inches high.<BR>This vase was a special order for a wealthy American family and is unique / one-of-a-kind. Pierced openwork in a delicate scrolling foliate and floral pattern bordered by richly gilded sides and highlighted by the red ground form the scrolling handles. Richest red and pale yellow offset the profuse raised gilding and jeweling. Moulded scrolls and geometric patterns on foot and neck. <BR>Marked underneath with burnt orange Royal Crown Derby mark, used between the start of the new company 1877 until 1889 (when the words Royal Crown Derby and Later, England, were added). See Godden Victorian Porcelain page 79. The name of the exclusive New York retailer is in a circle underneath.<BR>Condition is MINT. No damage/restorations of any sort.
