Incredible. Possibly Russian, from the estate of a Prince.

This is a three piece desk set composed of an ink stand with two ink wells, a letter opener and blotter. They are principally made of stone, a green quartz more trypically called bowenite that was extensively used as a hardstone in Russia and gilded bronze.

To the centre is the most magnificent figure of a deco lady kneeling in the nude and reading a book.

There are inkstands to each side of the lady covered, and inside the glass inserts for the ink.

This is very much in the style of Preis.

It was acquired at an auction that was composed of items from a Russian Prince who had fled to Germany after the revolution, and had then moved to North America. It is possibly a Russian item.
