ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:& nbsp; A GIA Certified oval-cut Paraiba Tourmaline is bezel-set in a platinum ring with round, brilliant-cut diamonds in the trident-split shoulders and semi-solid halo.& nbsp; There are baguette-cut diamonds that accentuate the sides where the shoulders meet the bezel.& nbsp; The ring has swirled front and back facing galleries, as well as a supportive ribbed gallery.& nbsp; The ring has an approximate 4mm shank that bears the Oscar Friedman hallmark.


The Paraiba Tourmaline is one of the newest gemstones known to man. Discovered in Brazil in the late 1980's, it has become one of the most prized gemstones in the tourmaline family.& nbsp;
Paraiba Tourmaline are also found in Nigeria and Mozambique. Even though they are not from Paraiba Brazil, The Laboratory Manual Harmonisation Committee (LMHC)***, agrees these tourmalines should be called Paraiba, due to their neon colors and vivid hues.
***The primary purpose of LMHC is to work towards the harmonisation of gemmological report language. The LMHC is not formally connected to any trade organization.& nbsp;
