C8 double-R box lid (graphics are fresh and clean, but box has light wear at the edges and a bumped upper left corner), includes Hassenfeld Bros. label which reads Dressed Box Figure for Display Only Not Intended for Resale. Inside of the box has another label which reads Montgomery Ward for Display Only Not Intended for Resale. Includes C9 soft-head TM figure (light overall wear, cracks at both knees and top of left thigh; eyebrows show light paint wear) with "Don Levine" written on the chest. Has immaculate black hair. Uniform includes sailor shirt and pants (exceptionally crisp), short black boots, mint dog tag, and C7/8 Navy Manual. The shirt is stamped "Sample" on the inside. Also included is a factory-sealed baggie labeled Montgomery Ward, which includes a USN ammo box, blinker light, binoculars, and blue Navy Attack helmet still wrapped in tissue, all in mint condition. This is an interesting variant, as the standard-issue Action Sailor came equipped only with a white sailor's cap, and not these extensive accessories. The "Removal of Boots" instructions -- standard-issue on virtually all GI Joe figures, even into the '70s -- has been glued to the inside of the box lid. Overall, an exceptional and rare variant of this classic figure. Estimate: $2,000-up

<!--

 Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions

No Prior Data Recorded

<font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium.
