GHELDERODE, Michel de.- Lettre autographe illustrée signée. [ Bruxelles], samedi 11 février 1961. 1 p. in-f°, encre rouge + dessin à pleine page au verso (enveloppe conservée). Sous vite et cadre moderne rouge.
Il est sans nouvelles de Thiry et Jean Ray, donne son avis sur le dernier Cahier de la Biloque et "Saint-Judas de la Nuit" qui lui "plaisait terriblement", il enverra un conte inédit "du regretté et savoureux conteur populaire qu'était mon cher Bruneau dont j'ai édité chez Durendal les "Contes et Légendes" qui ont eu et auront toujours un infini succès par les pays celtiques - Tournaisis, Picardie, etc...". Le reste de la lettre est relatif à sa santé ("je ne suis plus sorti depuis octobre 1960"), à sa mélancolie ("Le moral ne bouge pas. Inquiet seulement"). Enfin, il demande des nouvelles de Deauville et De Winter surtout dont il croit percevoir l'âme profonde ("cet homme de pierre qui est peut-être un tendre et un timide [...] il a eu de ces silences, de ces regards que je savais lire !...").
Il ne relit pas sa lettre, écrite sur 3 côtés, mais y jette "un dessin sanglant" à l'encre rouge, intitulé "L'exécution capitale de mon ami Jésus de Nazareth" figurant le Christ en croix cerné de 4 soldats ou évêque bosschiens. 500 Euros

After full payment, buyers are kindly requested to take away their purchases immediately after the auction or at the bookshop the next Tuesday after the auction 230 av. Louise, from 2 pm until 6 pm.
Goods will be send only after customers’ payment.
Packing and dispatching are entirely at the buyer’s own expense.
Books whose price exceed 100 EUR will be send by registered post.

Payment will be made in Euro's. We do not accept credit cards neither cheques whose total amount exceed 200 EUR or cheques not validated for higher sum.
Terms of sale require buyers to pay immediately for their purchases, which means that lots will be released to them only when full and cleared payment as been received by us
In addition to the hammer price, the buyer has to pay a buyer’s premium of 21%, V.A.T. inclusive, all strictly in cash and in Euro's (EUR)
In case of original art and if the principles of the author’s rights are applicable, an extra 4% must be paid on each hammer price of at least 1250 EUR
All items are assumed to be in good condition unless otherwise stated. Buyers are kindly invited to carry out their own inspection of the lots they want to buy. All items to be auctioned are on view for several days prior to the sale.
Returning an item after the striking of the hammer will not be accepted, whatever the reason put forward. Those items bought on order must be inspected within 8 days after receipt. Any return after this term will be refused.
All items of the catalogue with the mention « n.c. » (non collationné = not inspected) are not subject to return. Neither are those sold in lots (two items or more) works consisting in multiple volumes and periodicals or series.
If you cannot attend the auction, we can execute written bids on your behalf. To ensure a satisfactory service, it is necessary to make arrangements for the services at least one day before the sale.
On every purchase Belgian law only is applicable, and all cases of dispute are exclusively to the competence of the Brussels Chamber.
