(GETTYSBURG DEAD ALBUMEN)
"A rather morbid albumen photograph, 8 3/4"" x 6 3/4"", on a larger mount of dead Union artillery soldiers. Alexander Gardner's photographic team visited the battlefield on July 5 and took this image of artillery soldiers who were killed in the area of the Rose Farm. Timothy O'Sullivan published the albumen shortly after the battle using Gardner's negative, allowing for the largest and rarest format of this image available. A great image that gives the viewer a first-hand view of the battle-scarred field. Minor albumen loss barely detracts, else very good." 2432 A rather morbid albumen photograph, 8 3/4"" x 6 3/4"", on a larger mount of dead Union artillery soldiers.
