GERMANIC JAEGER RIFLE CONVERTED TO PERCUSSION.
Cal. 700. NSN. Bbl. 34" oct., deeply swamped w/ folding leaf U-notch rear & steel bead front sights is unmarked except for crowned "M" proof on left side. Bbl. is converted to percussion w/ shaped drum & nipple. Lock w/ arched flat plate has rebated tail w/ teat. A flat faced percussion hammer is fitted. Lock engraved "Diprxx" "D'caxxx". European walnut stock extends to muzzle w/ flared horn tip & attaches to bbl. w/ 3 steel side bolts. Stock features swept right hand cheekpiece & sling loop on toeline. Furniture is of brass. Buttplate w/ fancy shaped top tang which matches finials on trigger guard w/ spurred grip. Hickory ramrod w/ horn tip is held by 2 nicely turned beaded pipes & matching thimble. CONDITION: fine as converted to percussion. Bbl. cleaned to silver brown which matches lock. Stock appears sound & has old finish w/ numerous marks & dings. Brass is lacquered w/ areas worn through toning to mustard. Bright bore w/ multi groove rifling.. Lock will not hold at full cock. Set triggers do set sometimes. (01-19329/MGM). ANTIQUE. $600-800.
