RIFLE WITH ZF4 TELESCOPIC SIGHT. Cal. 8mm Mauser. S# 8769c. Bbl. 21 3/4". Late production gun w/ forged appearance & dbl. lug receiver. Muzzle is not threaded. Serial numbers match on receiver, bolt, bolt carrier, firing pin carrier & locking flaps. Bolt housing & gas cyl. are not numbered. Receiver marked on left side w/ "K43 ac" "45" & German eagle "359". Tangent rear sight graduated to 1,200m. Blade type front sight w/ protective hood. Hollow bolt handle. Laminated stock set & handguard. Buttstock marked on left side w/ eagle "WaA 359". Trap buttplate finished w/ black enamel. Brown late production leather sling. Original ZF4 scope & mt. Scope marked on left side "GW" "ZF4" "ddx" & "48103". Scope mfg. by Voigtlander & Sohn. Scope made w/ pointed post reticle w/ horizontal crossbars. Scope has rain shield at ocular lens. Rear lens covered by rubber eye piece which is glued in place along w/ the amber filter. Scope mt. marked w/ slanted "3714" & eagle "359" inspection mark. Scope is equipped w/ original scope caps with leather objective lens cover & wood plug for ocular lens. MAGS: 1 detachable 10 rd. marked w/ "aye", eagle "WaA 843" & "K43". CONDITION: stock has very light wear & scattered handling marks w/ original thin wartime finish. Metal is turning gray w/ light wear. Front sight base is gray phosphate. Good shiny bore w/ sharp lands but appearance of light frosting in grooves. Scope retains lg. percentage of original blue finish. Mt. has gray wartime finish w/ light wear. Amber lens is installed under glued on eye cup & obscures the sight picture but it appears that the lenses & reticle are cloudy but serviceable. PROVENANCE: From the estate collection of Charles P.
