LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH HOLSTER & LANYARD. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 8624u. Bbl. 4". P.08 Luger mfg. by Mauser in 1939 for the German military. Top of the bbl. extension is marked with the 4-digit year of mfg. "1939", with Mauser Eagle/63 proofs marked on the right. Toggle is marked with Mauser's "42" mfg. code. Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Serrated dovetailed blade front sight with fixed V-notch rear sight on toggle. Nearly all serialized parts are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever & bar, hold-open latch, bbl., bbl. extension, trigger bar, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, toggles, and rear toggle pin. Grips are earlier imperially proofed replacements that match each other via "50". MAGS: 2 non-matching (S# "8179k" and "6232L") blued 8-rd. mags., with aluminum plugs. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown leather holster mfg. by Rudolf Conte marked with an Eagle/WaA668 proof above the mfg. code "gjh" and the 2-digit year of mfg. "42" on the rear, containing a brown leather lanyard and unmarked loading tool. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their original arsenal salt blue finish, showing light to mild edge wear, areas of wear and thinning fading to gray and brown patinas, as well as scattered spots of light surface oxidation and pitting. Grip straps exhibit wear and thinning, with the balance exhibiting a gray/brown patina. Bore exhibits consistent mild pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips are very good, showing mild smoothing and some scattered handling marks overall. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting general overall wear, scattered handling marks, and scattered spots/areas of light to mild cracking and crazing. (25-4554/MLW). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
