Having attended antique fairs in many countries I have never seen a better bangle. The hinges and everything is perfect. No loses to the diamonds.</em></td>

We are pleased to offer what we believe to be a late Georgian or very early Victorian mourning bracelet, dating from the period 1820-1840.

To the front of the bracelet there is an enameled plaque with a silver basket mounted on top. On the basket there are mixed rose cut diamonds (approximately 1 carat)designed to resemble flowers. To the rear of this panel is a glass covered part that is accessible by 4 minute screws. This has red silk in it at the present time. (It probably used to have a remembrance of a deceased person by having a lock of his/her hair). There is also a safety chain to prevent loss.

The bracelet was originally not marked. A jeweler subsequently marked the bracelet as 14 kt gold. I believe that it is actually 15 kt but most North American jewllers do not have any experience with this quality of gold).

It is in the Greek key pattern and the central solid part in red gold has blue enamel lines around it.

In magnificent original condition with no bends, or losses.

It is relatively small and measures (closed) some 6.5-7 inches around.

This item will be shipped registered post.

Most impressive and wonderful.
