(1896-1974) Soviet field marshal, perhaps the greatest general of World War II, he survived crushing poverty and Stalin's purges to command the Russian armies at the monumental battles of Moscow and Kursk, and in the taking of Berlin. Partly-printed D.S. 2pp. legal folio, Odessa, Ukraine, Dec. 1947, anendorsement viz: vice commander of the 1178th Artillery division of the 10th Guard Infantry Budapest Corps, Major Ivan Lavrentyevich Gulyanitski. Zhukov signs in bright blue ink on the second page: "Agreed. Commander of the Odessa Military District, Marshal of the Soviet Union, G. Zhukov. 2.12. [47]". Tiny spindle holes at left margin from disbinding, light toning, very good.
