GEORGE M. COHAN: (1878 - 1942) American composer of such classic hits as "Yankee Doodle Dandy", "Give My Regards to Broadway" and "Over There". Fine content typed D.S. "George M. Cohan", 14pp. 4to., with blue paper covers, New York, Mar. 23, 1920, an agreement between Cohan as manager and lyricists Otto Harbach and Frank Mandel and composer Louis Hirsch granting exclusive rights to Cohan to stage the 1920 musical "Mary". The musical is named in the contract with the provisional title "The House that Jack Built". Itl opened at the Knickerbocker Theater on Oct. 18, 1920 and ran for over 200 performances. Harbach and Mandel were best known for the book for No No Nanette, Hirsch was a frequent composer for the Zigfeld follies. Also signed by OTTO HARBACH, FRANK MANDEL and LOUIS HIRSCH. Covers torn, pages nice and clean, usual folds, otherwise very good. $500-700
