In part, "...pay unto the Representatives of Major General Archibald McNab, deceased, the Sum of Four thousand...Pounds...the Sum borne on the Establishment of Our 41st Regiment of Foot, now commanded by...Major General Thomas Sterling..." General Thomas Sterling served in America during the Revolutionary War, primarily in military operations along the Hudson River (1779), including Stony Point. Slight trimmed top margin, touching very top of "G" in signature. Couple of small tape repairs at margins and light soiling, o/w VG. $300-400
