<hr align=left size=5 width=33% color=#778899>(1856-1950). Leading British playwright of <i>Major Barbara</i> and <i>Pygmalion</i> awarded Nobel Prize for literature in 1925; founding member of Fabian Society, a socialist educational organization later affiliated with the Labour party. AES “<i>G. Bernard Shaw</i>,” 4to, 1p, London, Jun 4, 1904. Shaw replies at bottom margin of TLS “<i>Dick Sheppard,</i>” a name used by <b>H. R. L. Sheppard</b> (1880-1937), Vicar of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, London, a well-known religious broadcaster and pacifist in the 1920s and 30s, requesting permission to include extracts of some of Shaw’s writings in an anthology, mentioning five of his works. Shaw responds, “<i>Yes, of course: anything you like. Forgive delay.</i>..” Boldly penned and signed, adding “<i>4th June 1904</i>.” Annotated in an unidentified hand in red pencil. Top and right margins evidence some soiling and wear; toning at edges; o/w VG.

11. All bidding is done in a competitive manner. The
winning bid will always be one bidding increment
over the second highest bid. The minimum
acceptable bid for any lot is 50% of the low
estimate given in the item description or $25,
whichever is higher.

12. Payment is expected immediately upon receipt of
invoice. All accounts are payable to Signature
House. Payment must be made in U.S. funds. Wire
transfer details are available upon request.
West Virginia residents will pay a sales tax of
6% unless a resale number is filed with us prior
to the closing date. For sales outside of the USA
a credit card is requested.

13. Shipment is made via U.S. Postal Service or
Airborne unless otherwise instructed. Handling,
shipping and insurance charges are added to the
invoice. Oversize and foreign shipments are subject
to increased charges. All items are shipped
immediately upon receipt of payment.

14. Golden Guarantee: All material is returnable within
seven days providing that it comes back in the same
condition. There is a lifetime guarantee on
authenticity to the original purchaser. The item(s)
must be returned with two letters denying it’s
authenticity by expert authenticators acceptable
