The President died at 7.22, on the morning of the 15th instant."</B></I><BR> <BR>Headquarters, Army of the Potomac, April 17th, 1865 General Orders, No. 16, iIn part: "In obedience to General Orders No. 69, current series, from the War Department, the flags at all camps and stations, in this Army will be kept at half mast during Wednesday next, the day appointed for the funeral of the late President of the United States, and all labor will be suspended, for the day, throughout the limits of this command."
