Besides the well-known nail reliefs especially the embossed prints are very much sought-after. The present one is a very fine copy, in which the artist did not use the whole nails, but only the heads for embossing. They are arranged in a square, dense composition that loose itself downwards and produce due to their strong imprint not only an interesting play of light and shadow but also give the work a relief character.

The embossing is signed and dated lower right in pencil ‘Uecker 89’, and dedicated lower left in pencil ‘für Josef Kovacs’. The condition of the sheet is very good. The image measures 51.2 x 49 cm, the sheet 70 x 50 cm.
