This is a vintage gelatin silver print by the German photographer Günter Zint (born 1941), who is famous for his pictures of musicians from the sixties and seventies. The photograph depicts the world-famous front man of The Doors, Jim Morrison (1943-1971), at a concert in Frankfurt.

The present photograph is signed in pencil by Günter Zint verso. It is in good condition with some handling creases on the glossy surface due to its age. There are creases at both the upper corners and a few discolored stains are visible in the image. The dimensions are 52 x 40.5 cm.



Günter Zint (born 1941)

The German photographer Günter Zint is known for his photographs of the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, hippies, the Brokdorf Domenica, the Reeperbahn in Hamburg and the civil protests in Gorleben. He started his education with a traineeship at the Deutsche Presseagentur in Frankfurt am Main. As a qualified photographer he went to Sweden and England to work for two years. Subsequently he worked for the ‘Spiegel’ magazine in Hamburg for five years. He had his breakthrough with photographs of the Star-Club in Hamburg. Zint focused increasingly on social subjects and initiated the ‘Pan-Foto Agentur zur Verbreitung alternativer Pressefotos GmbH’ together with Hinrich Schultze, Marily Stroux, Gaby Schmidt, Jutta Stadach and Inge Kramer at the beginning of the 1980s. Exhibitions of his photographs have taken place all over Germany and the majority of his works can be found at the St. Pauli Museum in Hamburg.
