G Stirling Brown (circa 1900) The Racehorse Cyclonic, with C Elliott up, on Newmarket Heath, signed and dated lower right "G Stirling Brown 1929" oil on canvas, 68 x 90cm. Cyclonic (born 1925 by Hurry On out of Volcanic) was owned by Major J S Courtauld, and trained by Mr B Jarvis. Cyclonic won the Jockey Club Stakes, Newmarket, and the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot, and was third in the St Leger Classic Race at Doncaster, all in 1928 £1,500-2,500
