G.S. Garcia "Dandy" Pattern Spurs. Double-mounted G.S. Garcia / Elko Nev maker-marked, silver inlaid "Dandy" catalog pattern No. 75/75A California spurs, with original straps and conchos. Pictured in the Garcia Saddlery catalogs as early as 1898, this was the most expensive style that the legendary Elko shop manufactured, describing them in their company catalogs as, "the finest spur that has ever been made.with 100 different silver inlaid pieces". The front side (No. 75)features the diamond on the tapered heelband, while the off-side shows the 6-petal flower in a target (No. 75A). The 2 1/2", 14-point rowels have silver inlaid spokes and are mounted with a scalloped and engraved coin silver washer on the front side. The original 2" engraved coin silver scalloped conchos were undoubtedly made in Elko by Garcia as were the two-piece floral carved leathers. The silver mountings are clear and well defined. However, two spokes on each rowel show loss - probably from exposure to moisture. The original leather straps are damaged. All pieces are 100% original.
